In the next edition of our #EmployeeSpotlight series, we caught up with Simon Lewis to learn more about why he enjoys his role as General Manager, his proudest moment at Hitec and why he would recommend working for Hitec.
How long have you been working at Hitec?
I’ve been General Manager at Hitec for almost two years, and what a journey it’s been. One I’m very proud of, that’s for sure.
What does your job role involve?
My role as General Manager means I help to guide the company and staff forward, to achieve our collective goals. I’m incredibly passionate about Hitec because I believe in our business and our people and I know we always deliver.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
The thing I love most about my role is being able to help team members develop both personally and professionally.
What is your proudest moment as part of the team?
There’s so many. But one that really stands out is when we recently vacated one of our buildings. It was brilliant to see the whole team pulling together, on a Saturday morning, to ensure the move was a success. The team are always reliable and work together to get the job done.
What is your biggest personal achievement as part of the team?
A brilliant achievement was when Hitec was recognised as Highly Commended Dealer of the Year 2023.
Why would you recommend working for Hitec?
You don’t just work for Hitec, you are part of the Hitec family. Colleagues and customers know we provide a first class service, and that’s because of the camaraderie of our people.
What’s your favourite film?
Blues Brothers.
Favourite meal?
Curry, I could eat a curry every night.
Favourite Musician?
Myles Kennedy, or if I was picking a band it would be Iron Maiden.
If you could be any celebrity, who would it be and why?
Seve Ballesteros, to hit any golf shot like he could would be a great experience.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Only buy it if you can afford it.
