In the next edition of our #EmployeeSpotlight series, we caught up with Amanda Walker to discover why she enjoys her role as Short Term Hire and Transport Manager, her proudest moment at Hitec and why she would recommend working here.
How long have you been working at Hitec?
I’ve been on quite a journey with Hitec over the past four-and-a-half years. I feel the business has changed and evolved so much and it’s been a pleasure to be part of that journey. It really is an exciting time to join the business.
What does your job role involve?
Ensuring the hire department runs smoothly and providing excellent customer service. I make certain that our Articulated Lorries remain compliant and roadworthy, as well as managing our Drivers and Hire Controller.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
What I enjoy most is that no two days are ever the same when dealing with the challenges that can occur, particularly with logistics and transport. I also love working with our customers and making sure they’re happy and satisfied with the service we are providing.
What is your proudest moment as part of the team?
One of my proudest moments is building and maintaining a strong relationship within the Hire department, which has guaranteed we can deliver the best service to our customers.
What is your biggest personal achievement?
Walking 20k for MS in London with some of the team in 2023.
Why would you recommend working for Hitec?
I can’t recommend working for Hitec enough, it’s a great place to work with so many opportunities to develop personally.
What’s your favourite film?
Home Alone, it still makes me laugh.
Favourite meal?
Traditional roast lamb dinner.
Favourite Musician?
I don’t have one, I enjoy listening to Reggae, Dance , Motown, and a variety of artists.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t ask anyone to do anything that you wouldn’t be willing to do and I always stand by it.
