Hitec get it right first time for Ecolutia with new Combilift Straddle Carrier

Finding the correct equipment for an industrial application can be a challenging prospect for businesses. Getting it wrong can have consequences in terms of productivity, safety and cost efficiency. At Hitec Lift Trucks, identifying the appropriate solution for customers is a priority.

As an example of this commitment, Hitec Lift Trucks recently completed the delivery of a Combilift SC3 Straddle Carrier to Ecolutia Services in Peterborough. Ecolutia is a global leader in mobile water treatment equipment and initially enquired to Hitec regarding a new 12 tonne counterbalance forklift. Following a detailed site evaluation by Hitec’s team, it was determined that the correct equipment to meet Ecolutia’s requirements was actually the Straddle Carrier as it had a wider range of capabilities and was more suited to both the site environment and proposed activity levels.

Taking this methodical approach to customer care has always been a hallmark of Hitec’s service and has helped establish a reputation as a trusted industrial equipment supplier to businesses throughout the East of England.

Paul Stiff, Regional Business Development Manager, Hitec Lift Trucks, commented: “At Hitec Lift Trucks we’re committed to finding the correct equipment for our customers’ requirements. Achieving this goal requires close collaboration with the customer and an in-depth understanding of their requirements, the site environment and how their business operates.

“On this occasion, we were able to determine that the original enquiry for a 12 tonne counterbalance would have been unsuitable for the proposed application. Therefore, we go to work in finding an alternative option that would be a better fit for Ecolutia. Through our partnerships with some of the world’s leading equipment manufacturers, we were able to identify the Combilift SC3 Straddle Carrier as the best solution.

“The Combilift a fantastic addition to Ecolutia’s business, and the feedback we’ve received since it was delivered in 2020 has been fantastic. The benefits of choosing the Straddle Carrier as opposed to a traditional forklift or a reach stacker have already been proven and we’re looking to continuing our work with Ecolutia moving forward.”

Hitec delivers new Flexi truck to English Heritage site Wrest Park

Hitec Lift Trucks has completed the delivery of a new articulated Flexi truck to the English Heritage site, Wrest Park in Bedfordshire.

The machine will be used mainly to help the Collections team at Wrest Park safely store and transport a wide range of artefacts and delicate items across their site, which is gearing up for a busy summer period following the anticipated relaxation of COVID restrictions.

Rachel Kitcherside, Collections Manager, Wrest Park, commented: “We initially contacted Hitec as we were looking to replace our existing truck as it was becoming unsuitable for our requirements. Ben and the Hitec team responded promptly and identified the appropriate solution for us, which was the Flexi truck.

“The operation of the Flexi is extremely smooth, which is very important for us as its main function is to transport delicate artefacts and other fragile items. We have been extremely pleased with the machine and it’s having a really positive effect on our business. I’d like to thank Ben and Hitec for their hard work in specifying a high quality product that ticks every box and has fitted seamlessly into our operations.”

Ben Stiff, Regional Account Manager, Hitec Lift Trucks, commented: “We are delighted to have completed this delivery to the iconic Wrest Park site. Our site evaluation indicated that the Flexi was the ideal choice. Given the nature of the work that’s carried out at Wrest Park, any equipment that we supplied had to be able to perform in a very narrow aisle (VNA) environment, whilst also providing a smooth and even ride.

“The Flexi itself is exceptional at performing in VNA areas and is already doing everything expected of it. We looking forward to helping the team at English Heritage with anything else they may need in the future.”
